Yu-Gi-Oh! Theme Deck 1: Level 3 Warriors
From time to time I will be posting Yu-Gi-Oh Theme Decks on this website! I know the obvious first option would have been Ghosttricks due to this being October: the ghostiest month of all. Don't worry, I'll do a Halloween Theme Deck later this month. Today, I would like to present level 3 Warriors in all their glory. You can be assured they have earned their glory on the battlefield.
The first Theme Deck presented will be level 3 Warriors. This is a modern take on a classical deck that I've been mulling over for some time. Kagemucha Knight is the card that holds this deck together.
He is a level 3 Warrior Type Monster who can be special summoned upon the successful Normal Summon of another level 3 Monster. To counter this powerful upside, the catch is that he cannot be used a Synchro Material Monster. Our purpose with this deck is to use him as an XYZ Material instead. Thanks to XYZ Monsters like The Djinns - particularly MeloMelody and MuzuRhythm - and Number 49: Fortune Tune, this card can be put to good use.
If MuzuRhythm The String Djinn and MeloMelody The Brass Djinn are on the field at the same time, you can detach a monster from MeloMelody to let MuzuRhythm attack twice. During the Damage Step of MuzuRhythm's first attack, detach a monster from MuzuRhythm and he will have 3000 Attack until the End Phase! Kagemucha Knight can also be chained to Marauding Captain's effect to summon 3 Monsters from your hand for Number 34: Terror-Byte!
If Number 34: Terror-Byte isn't enough to scare your opponents into surrendering then maybe a 2400 Attack boost to one of the 3 monsters from United We Stand will do the trick instead.
Marauding Captain locks aren't the only thing this deck has up its sleeves. This deck makes good use of Armor Breaker by employing 3 Spell Strikers to chip away at cards on your opponent's field.
If the cards ever pile up, stall with Necro Gardna or Junk Defender until you can synchro summon Mist Wurm and send your opponent's field back to your his or her hand.
Don't worry about too many attacks, your opponent will be sure to step carefully once you reveal the tried-and-tested Magic Cylinder Trap Card.
Warriors are manly men (Just no one bring that up to an Amazoness)! As a rule, Dresses are strictly Forbidden but the Warriors who wear them can be saved from Dark Hole at the cost of 600 Attack and a little dignity. If they die from indecent exposure, you can always bring them back with The Warrior Returning Alive or Call of the Haunted.
Warrior builds can be slow to draw and search since Reinforcement of the Army is at 1. This build tries to overcome that by using 3 Upstart Goblin as bait to draw out our warriors from hiding.
